St. Columba’s, Inverness
An inclusive contemplative community incarnating the Mystical Body of Christ in Word, Sacrament, and spiritual intimacy
St. Columba’s, Inverness, is an Episcopal Church, retreat house, and contemplative center offering a place of refuge in the heart of West Marin. Under the leadership of Father Vincent Pizzuto, PhD, since 2017, St. Columba’s has become an internationally recognized center for contemplative Christianity, rooted in the Gospel and drawing upon the wisdom of Celtic spirituality. We welcome all who seek quiet, prayerful respite in the rustic beauty of the Point Reyes National Seashore, where our historic 100-year-old redwood retreat house invites guests to rest, recharge, and reconnect with God in nature.
Our ministry extends from the sanctuary out to the community and beyond, with a year-round rhythm of worship as well as directed and private retreats of all sizes, public lectures, concerts, annual Shakespeare performances, and online offerings that reach participants far beyond West Marin. Through the St. Columba’s Council for Ecological Discipleship, we explore the spiritual roots of the ecological crisis, and our newly acquired collection of books in St. Mary’s Library offers over 1100 volumes. All are welcome to our community grounded in Word, Sacrament, and spiritual intimacy.
