Whitney Wilson

Associate for Congregational Ministries

Since her graduation from Church Divinity School of the Pacific with a M.T.S. degree and an emphasis on Christian Formation, Whitney had served as the Children, Youth, and Family Minister at Church of the Resurrection, Pleasant Hill. She also brings to the Diocese of California prior experience working as a human resources professional.

The Associate for Congregational Ministries is the new title for the position formerly known as Vocations Officer. As Associate for Congregational Ministries, Whitney facilitates discernment of Holy Orders under the direction of the Canon to the Ordinary (CTO) and as part of the Working Group for Congregational Development. Her duties include managing the application process for Holy Orders; coordinating logistics for semi-annual related events; ensuring regular communication with people in the process and their sponsoring congregations; liaising with the Commission on Ministry and the Standing Committee; and providing related executive support to the CTO.

Whitney lives in Walnut Creek with her husband Scott Wilson and their three children who are in college and high school. Whitney enjoys spending time with family and friends sharing good food and laughter. Their goldendoodle Lucy is always a good source of some laughs as well.
