Call for Submission of Resolutions

In preparation for the 160th Convention of the Diocese of California on Saturday, October 17, 2009, the Resolutions Committee invites the submission of resolutions for our consideration.  The preliminary deadline for submission of resolutions is 5 p.m., July 22, 2009, so that the Resolutions Committee can review them for inclusion in the pre-convention packet that is distributed at fall Deanery meetings.   Resolutions received thereafter will not be included in the pre-convention packet, but may be considered at Convention if they are submitted by the August 20, 2009 deadline.

Electronic copies are preferred!  According to the Convention Rules of Order, resolutions may be submitted by any cleric or lay delegate eligible to vote at Convention, or by any parish, mission, or other officially recognized diocesan organization.  The copy of the resolution should include the name and address of the person proposing the resolution.  In the case of a congregation or organization proposing a resolution, contact information for the representative of the group authorized to respond to questions and accept amendments should be included.
