Bishop Marc to visit Haiti in January

Posted on December 27, 2012

In early January the Rt. Rev. Marc Andrus will accompany the Rt. Rev. Stacy Sauls, chief operating officer of The Episcopal Church, and many others — including five people from the Diocese of California — on a pilgrimage to Haiti from Tuesday, January 8, through Monday, January 14. The pilgrimage will offer an opportunity to see the work The Episcopal Church has done in rebuilding Haiti, where The Episcopal Church has 254 schools and 135 churches; a school is started wherever a church is planted. Part of the visit will include a trip to the Holy Trinity Cathedral complex which includes the Holy Trinity Music School. The Diocese of California has partnered with the Diocese of Haiti to rebuild the music school. The pilgrimage will also include visits to several other schools, hospitals, and churches, as well as commemorate the third anniversary of the tragic earthquake that destroyed much of the country.
