Please join us for a special celebration of Earth Day Sunday with guest speaker, Dr. Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka, founder and CEO of Conservation Through Public Health.  Dr. Gladys’ is one of the leading conservationists and scientists working to save the endangered mountain gorillas of East Africa. The first full time veterinarian for the Uganda Wildlife Authority, she is internationally recognized for her conservation work and founded CTPH in 2003.  In December 2021 she was proclaimed the United Nations Environment Programme‘s Champion of the Earth for Science and Innovation.  In April 2022, she was awarded the Edinburgh Medal 2022 for her work improving the quality of life of people and wildlife to enable them to coexist in and around protected areas in Africa. She is a pioneer in community-led ‘One Health’ approaches to conservation exploring and supporting the delicate interplay between humans and wildlife.  She also will be available during coffee hour to sign her book, Walking with Gorillas: The Journey of an African Wildlife Vet.  Read more about her work in National Geographic Magazine.
